the word thalassemia. So today I will tell you about thalassemia its symptoms,
and how it can be cured or not.
So let’s start with its
definition
Thalassaemia
It is genetic
disorder which have effects on the blood, patients of thalassaemia have not haemoglobin in their blood nor can they
produce that much which can provide there basic needs to live a healthy life.
Haemoglobin
Haemoglobin is oxygen carrying protein
that transfer it from the lungs to the other body parts.
Thalassaemia
can be of two types

mild or we can say it can have a little impact it all depends on the genes you
carry.

Body fatigue
Feels
tired every time.

have dark urination colour.
Their
growth is slow.
Their
skin colour will be pale yellow or yellowish due to the deficiency of oxygen.
Their
facial bones will have deformities.
Thalassemia diagnosis
Some
people have thalassaemia because they are unwell. They can visit their doctor
their doctor will examine them. The doctor will do several test including the
genetic tests. And on seeing the reports result you can find you have
thalassaemia or not.
On
the other some people find by chance that they have the thalassaemia when a
blood test is one for another reason but they find out about this.

If someone
in your family have the thalassaemia you should do a check-up yours too cause
it’s a genetic disorder.

this type the HBA1 and HBA2 involves.
Beta thalassemia
In
this type the haemoglobin production is reduced. This leads to deficiency of
oxygen in many parts of the body.
Thalassemia treatment
First
your treatment depends on your symptoms.
Those
who have severe condition need blood transfusion on every 3 to 4 weak.
And
those who have less severe conditions need blood transfusions sometime not on
the daily basis of life routine.
Blood
transfusion can have severe effects too as its creates an iron build up that
causes serious damages to the liver and heart, so patients with blood
transfusions need to take the medicines that will help them to keep the iron at
safe level.
For
some people to cure from this disease they need a bone marrow transplant from
some healthy donors?
If
you and your partner are planning to have a baby you may have to do genetic
testing case your children is at risk of have thalassemia if you and your
