Biosafety
is an application that is when doing laboratory work reduces the risk of
exposure to toxic agent and the harmful material we are dealing with.
Importance
of biosafety
We need our
safety first, and all the member which are working in the laboratory.
We need
protection from infectious agents.
Biosafety
provides accidental protection to workers.
Biosafety
rules provides us proper guidelines to all infectious agents.
There are
several biosafety levels
Biosafety
level 1
Biosafety
level 2
Biosafety
level 3
Biosafety
level 4
These are
different safety level on the basis of pathogens and organisms we are with in
laboratory.
The worker
should be trained to use the equipment’s and have knowledge what kind of
substances and organisms they are dealing with.
If
something spilled so using protocols we can discard the material and disinfect
the place and labels the waste with time and date on it and id and the batch
number so if any problem happens so it is easy to solve as we what we are
dealing with.
Gloves and
lab coat provide and basic barrier between the organisms we are dealing with.
Glasses
provides protection when we dealing with the product which fumigates and
releases gases, so in that they provide protection measures.
Biosafety
sign should be pasted in the laboratory.
