Camouflage is an adaptation that allows an animal to blend in with certain aspects of their environment. Camouflage increases an organisms chances of survival by hiding it from predators.
EXAMPLE
• Leafy sea dragon give itself appearance like seaweed allowing it to camouflage with its environment.
• On the vast savannas of Africa, leopards use their coloration and spots as a hunting tool because it enables them to blend in easily with the tall grasses as they stalk their prey.

Mimicry occurs when one animal is plays physical or behavioral traits that copy those of a different species or surrounding’s, and incur a survival advantage on account of it. Animals don’t necessarily mimic other animals often they mimic plants or rocks.
EXAMPLE
• Stick bugs are perhaps one of the better known examples of insect mimicry. Their twig-like appearance helps to defined them against predators that hunt by sight.
• Another insect employing visual mimicry is the ladybird mimic beetle. This beetle has adopted the red and black coloration of the aposematic ladybug, allowing it to benefit from the ladybugs toxins and unpalatability to predators.
