Tuberculosis (TB): Progression of the Disease, Latent and Active
Infections.
Discoveries in the field of TB detection and therapeutics continue,
while the growing scientific evidence to reduce incidence and mortality
continue to be driven by efforts to create the tools necessary to improve

Case Report: An Extensive Case of Human Tuberculosis With Late Absence
of Chronic Inflammation
Keenly sad to learn that long ago I was diagnosed with tuberculosis. I
had to recover from tuberculosis, as the treatment back then was like an
excursion in a tuberculosis ward. I suffered and I was treated by great
doctors, who treated my disease with compassion. It was very difficult.
Sometimes my two front teeth fell out because of the treatment. Nowadays I
think I had TB, but it must have been because I have been sick for so many years.
Now my kids have grown up and they are well. Thanks to modern medicine.
I think I would have died a long time ago if I was healthy. Now I'm just
sick, I have mild cases of TB, which are rare in my state of Armenia. These
cases are not as big as the ones which I suffered from. Nowadays the doctors
don't treat you as badly. They say you will get better and it will go away. In
my state of health I must have tuberculosis. These are all just rumors and
assumptions. It doesn't make sense to come and tell me that there was a real
case of tuberculosis back then. A real case would not disappear after 60 years
of sickness.
Medical records prove that I had tuberculosis. But
nobody wants to publish these medical records. There was a time when I was
dying and no doctors cared about me. Nobody saved my life. A local doctor was
angry because of my condition. He believed that I was hiding something. He
accused me of taking a drug that was not prescribed. My family was worried
about me. They didn't know what to do.
That doctor was stubborn and he suspected
everything, so he was not willing to believe me when I told him that I have
tuberculosis. All he needed was another piece of evidence, which he didn't
have. Nowadays doctors treat tuberculosis more humanely, more intelligently,
and compassionately. Many cases are cured and they simply go away, while some
of the people do get better, but they remain ill. Nowadays doctors treat people
with tuberculosis with drugs.
They don't treat them like they treat someone who
is going to die in a few months. They treat people who have a disease, which
can be treated and cured. But in my case I was not cured. In my case the
disease remained and I had to recover from that illness.
